Arison Kul (Akul) is from Kainantu, Eastern Highlands and resides in Lae, Morobe. He started painting in 2003 and is a self-taught artist who developed his technique through reading and through working with other senior artists. Most of his work reflects PNG's endless flora and fauna. He loves rich colour as it represents the rich diversity of PNG

The painting tells the story of disruption across six categories: corruption of leadership, misuse of money, economic disruption, COVID-19, tribal fighting, natural disasters, development on our lands. Overall, many changes are good, but someone loses out and the effects on little people can be significant.
